Reservoir Modelling & Simulation
Using industry-leading software, we can meet your modelling needs.
- Static geological modelling can quantify hydrocarbons, assist with field development and optimization, and is the basis of dynamic reservoir simulation. We review and audit existing models, or create new ones, to use in our workflows.
- Geomechanical modelling is used to optimize new reservoirs, revitalize mature fields and provide insight into optimal frac design. We have experience creating 1D and 3D mechanical earth models (MEM) to assist in well optimization.
- Dynamic reservoir simulation is an integral part of analyzing and forecasting the performance of reservoirs. We have extensive experience developing and reviewing reservoir simulation models for reporting and optimization.
The digital transformation is presenting the oil and gas industry with opportunities to leverage new and exciting technologies like machine learning. GLJ does not provide black box solutions. Using a collaborative approach, we work directly with you throughout the entire process.
Our current machine learning focus is on development planning, optimization and reserve impact analysis. By automating workflows, leveraging open source tools, using our own internal models, and utilizing both public and proprietary datasets, we provide you with an unprecedented ability to quantify risk and make better decisions.
Gas Storage Studies
We take a multi-disciplinary approach for our gas storage studies, drawing from our expertise in engineering, geology and geophysics. We address projects and challenges ranging in scope from evaluating established gas cycling schemes to assessing the feasibility of converting abandoned pools for gas storage.
Supply & LNG Studies
We prepare petroleum supply studies to support infrastructure development projects such as pipelines, facilities and liquified natural gas (LNG) terminals by determining their economic viability. Our services range from basin-wide resource potential studies to the evaluation of reserves and resources for regions within the connection area of the proposed infrastructure and beyond.
Expert Witness & Litigation Support
Proper knowledge, training and experience are only some of the skills required of an expert witness. The demands of the judicial process are not simply limited to knowing the facts and generating a reasonable answer. An expert witness must simplify complex matters and help people understand what really matters – and we are experts at doing just that.
We have generated reports and testimony relating to a wide variety of judicial proceedings involving energy interests, such as litigation, arbitration and mediation.
