About the Role
GLJ is looking for a recent graduate to join our Evaluations team. The successful candidate will work closely with our engineers, geoscientists, and business professionals in a diverse range of Energy projects including oil and gas reserves evaluations. These projects and evaluations are crucial to support corporate financing or property transactions in the industry. This is a great opportunity to work with a collaborative team that takes pride in delivering successful outcomes for our clients.

What you will do

  • Assist, and coordinate the preparation and generation of reserves reports and economic forecasts of oil and gas well evaluations to support public disclosure, corporate financing as well as acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Perform decline curve analysis and economic evaluations of wells.
  • Compile and organize well data, land data, accounting and production information;
  • Work directly with GLJ’s clients providing customized reserves and economic tables and assist our clients with the preparation of their public disclosure documents and internal reports;
  • Routinely provide project support for engineering staff in the form of technical assistance with reserves software, such as Value Navigator and Mosaic;
  • Liaise with clients and the evaluation team to optimize efficiency and coordinate project timing;
  • Edit and proof technical economic and reserves documentation.

Qualifications

  • Petroleum Engineering Technology diploma from a post-secondary institution,
  • Member in training (T.T.) with ASET and interest working towards professional designation,
  •  Strength in managing and manipulating large data sets.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (additional language abilities are considered an asset)
  • Highly proficient user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Power Point and Word;
  •  Experience/exposure to industry software such as Accumap, Geoscout, Mosaic and Value Navigator;
  • Has a positive proactive attitude with a strong work ethic and the proven ability to work within a team environment;
  • Ability to manage multiple demands with high attention to detail;
  • Strong problem solving and communication abilities;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Experience

  • Exposure to the petroleum industry would be considered an asset. Please note: this is not an engineer position.
