Greg Owen is the Vice President of Business Development for GLJ Ltd., a global energy consultancy. With over thirty years of experience in global energy, Greg has a diverse background in energy. He has managed large-scale oil and gas fields both onshore, and offshore including the Jack Fish Thermal development in Northeast Alberta and the Mad Dog floating production facility in the Gulf of Mexico. Greg has consulted on numerous energy and sustainability projects by providing strategic services including project planning, operational alignment, system reviews, technology evaluations and acquisitions and divestitures. Greg has developed international water recycling hubs and lead the reclamation efforts on hydrocarbon sites.
Greg is passionate about the sustainable energy development, innovation, the environment, and economics. He specializes in integrated energy management and in his role at GLJ he has been successful at helping clients world-wide with the global energy transition.
As an expert in emerging energies, global energy trends and carbon management, Greg has presented in workshops and conferences in Europe, Africa, South America, the USA, Australia, and Canada.
Greg is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, APEGGA and numerous professional associations. Greg has a B SC in Environmental Engineering from Montana Technological University, and a diploma in Chemical Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
