For over 35 years GLJ has remained committed to delivering timely, consistent and reliable services to an impressive list of clients ranging from emerging junior producers to majors E&P’s, financial institutions, legal firms, investment bankers, government agencies, mid-stream and transmission companies.

The core GLJ management team has been with the firm for over 20 years providing extraordinary stability and consistency in addition to a wealth of experience.

Our History - An Outstanding Reputation Built over Four Decades

GLJ Petroleum Consultants Ltd. was founded by Vic Kloepfer and Gary Last as Last Kloepfer Ltd. in 1972 in response to a need for independent reserves evaluation services and petroleum consulting in Canada. Since that time, GLJ has played a significant role within the resource community, assisting companies of all sizes with critical decisions affecting the course of their business. The firm has grown to a current staff complement of over 100, ranking GLJ among the largest firms worldwide in its area of expertise.

From 1972 to 2005, the firm maintained a tradition of identifying the active principals in the masthead as noted in the various monikers below:

GLJ broke with its traditional naming practice in establishing the current (and perhaps final) name, GLJ Petroleum Consultants, on September 1, 2005, based on the acronym by which it had become well-known throughout the domestic and international petroleum community.
